Getting Started

How to Register on the SAED Portal (Step-by-Step Guide for Corps Members)

If you’re currently in NYSC orientation camp, one of the most important things you need to complete is your SAED online registration.

In this guide, you’ll learn exactly how to register on the SAED Portal, why it matters, and how to complete your WhatsApp onboarding without stress.

What is SAED and Why is Registration Important?

The Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program is designed to help corps members acquire practical skills and prepare for life after service.

Registering on the SAED Portal is compulsory, but more importantly, it is highly beneficial.

Here’s why:

  • It helps SAED understand your needs and priorities
  • It identifies your existing skills and learning gaps
  • It helps you define your skill-up goals for the service year
  • It connects you to a support system and helpline

Simply put, your registration ensures you get a personalized and valuable SAED experience.

Who Can Register?

All corps members currently in orientation camp are required to complete the SAED online registration.

What You Need Before You Start

Before beginning your registration, ensure you have:

  • A smartphone or device with internet access
  • A working browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.)
  • Basic personal information (e.g., name, state code, etc.)

⚠️ If you’re experiencing network issues, don’t give up—just keep trying. The process is simple and will go through.

Step-by-Step Guide to SAED Portal Registration

Follow these steps carefully:

Step 1: Visit the SAED Portal

Open your browser and type:

saedportal.com.ng

Wait for the portal to fully load.

Step 2: Click on the Registration Button

  • Locate the “Registration” button
  • It is green and positioned at the top of the page

If you don’t see it, scroll back to the top or use the mobile menu.

Step 3: Fill in Your Personal Details

The registration form is divided into two parts:

Part 1: Basic Information

  • Enter your personal details
  • Select a skill you want to learn during camp

Part 2: Post-Camp Training Evaluation

  • Indicate your existing skills
  • Select additional skills you want to learn
  • Set your skill-up goals for the service year

Tip: If any field seems confusing, read the explanation provided. Every section is designed to guide you.

Step 4: Submit Your Registration

After filling in all required fields:

  • Click through using the Next button
  • Submit the form once completed

Step 5: Complete WhatsApp Onboarding

Once you submit your form:

  • You will be automatically redirected to WhatsApp
  • A pre-filled message will appear

All you need to do is:

  • Complete the message with your details
  • Send it

This step connects you to the SAED support system and updates channel.

What Happens After Registration?

After completing your registration:

  • You will receive a confirmation email
  • You will also get a WhatsApp confirmation message
  • Additional instructions will be provided—make sure to follow them

Yes. If a friend or colleague does not have a smartphone or is experiencing network issues, you can use your phone to register the person—in fact, as many people as you can.

If you are a platoon leader, you can also assist members of your platoon who are having difficulty registering.

You are not alone. The options available for in-camp training are limited, but this does not mean that SAED does not recognize your desired skill. You are advised to choose the closest option available or try something new—you might enjoy it.

And don’t worry, we will send you a reminder through email and admin notice banner of your WordPress dashboard.

There is no need to worry. I will provide the WhatsApp onboarding number now. Save it as SAED Helpline. When you are able to access WhatsApp, you can send a message and we will respond.

The number is: 08141690918

This is very simple.

Open the confirmation email you received after submitting the form. There is a WhatsApp onboarding prompt or button there. Click on it, and you will be redirected to WhatsApp to complete the onboarding.

This happens, and it is not a problem. However, once classes commence, attendance will be taken, and moving between classes is not advisable at that stage. If you must switch, ensure you reach out to the Head of SAED or any staff member for proper guidance.
